Hello! My Name is Brandon Windsor.
As I searched the internet for a fresh, exciting, and worthwhile zine to write
for, I surveyed many that met some but not all of the criteria. Until I found
24:7. This area and its contributors are witty, intelligent, talented, somewhat
sadistic, unappreciated, people. So, the search was over for me; I have found my
home.
As the headline states, I am Brandon Windsor. I
attend Tennessee Technological University located in a small town of Cookeville,
Tennessee. For your geographic orientation, Cookeville is approximately 86 miles
southeast of Nashville. I haven't always lived here, originally I'm from
Nashville affectionately known as " Music City USA". What they really mean to
say is "Country Music City USA". Though I was born there, I hate country music,
boot-scootin', and tacky shirts with equally tacky belt buckles. I often wear
cowboy boots but only because they're easy to put on and take off and I like the
way they make me feel. How do they make me feel? Well, the best way I can
describe it is like a man who is confident, tough, rebellious, independent, and
one mean lookin' son-of-a-bitch. I came to Cookeville to go to school and
somewhere in the process I met my wife, that's right, my wife. So many people
are shocked that myself at 22 and my wife at 20 have been married well over a
year and are both students in college. I say what I believe about everything in
life, "Nobody knows what's best for you other than yourself". I got married at
20 years old, and a sophomore in college and I couldn't be happier. It's not
hard to be married and go to school unless you're making it hard. Yes, there are
fights; yes, there are compromises; but if you are married to the right person,
mature, and committed to each other, there is no reason that you shouldn't be
happy and can make it work. Enough of that, I study psychology and religion and
in my spare time, I read, write, and watch pro wrestling. (Yes, I know it's
fake.)
As for this column, I would like to discuss in the
future topics of importance to everyday life and also the future. There are
things happening in this world that you and I can no longer ignore. There are
behaviors and trends being set that we as the future generations must decide if
this is what we want for our future or not. Topics such as, racism, abortion,
aliens, television violence, and religious differences, must all be carefully
examined and either allowed to progress unharmed or to be altered hopefully for
the better for the future. I understand with these topics, some people will
disagree with me and others will agree. Disagreement is the spice of life. All I
ask is that you consider my side of an issue and I will likewise consider yours.
Finally, let me state very clearly, I will not judge anyone. When I disagree
with someone, they do not become my enemy, instead they are someone who believes
differently than I and I will leave the judging to a higher power.
Next time, I will get started. Thanks for reading and
be sure to check back. It is my sincere hope that this isn't goodbye but rather
see you later. Until next time, may peace be your companion. Your comments
and questions are appreciated. You can e-mail Brandon E. Windsor at
